Tile Installation in Hendersonville, TN

Ceramic and porcelain tile for shower walls, bathroom floors and backsplashes, laid out carefully and set flat.

Good tile work is mostly planning

Tile looks simple when it is done well and obvious when it is not. Most of the skill is invisible: checking that the surface is flat, deciding where the cuts fall, keeping grout lines straight across a whole wall, and centering features like a niche so the room feels balanced.

Ceramic and porcelain are the two materials we set most. The photos on this page show the range: gray subway tile with a diamond-pattern niche inlay, a patterned bathroom floor, and large-format slate-look tile with leveling spacers holding the layout flat while it cures.

Tile is part of every bathroom remodel we do, but we also set it on its own: a worn floor, a new tub surround, a kitchen backsplash. For wood-look and click-together floors, see laminate and vinyl flooring.

When it is time to call a tile installer

  • Cracked, chipped or loose tile in a shower, entry or kitchen.
  • A bathroom floor that is cold, dated or no longer matches the rest of the room.
  • A new tub surround, shower or backsplash you want in ceramic or porcelain.
  • Grout lines that have turned dark and will not come clean.
  • A remodel where you want a pattern, a niche or a border, not plain rows of tile.

How we install tile

  1. Choose and measure

We measure the surface, work out how much tile you need including cuts and waste, and talk through size, color and pattern before anything is ordered.

  2. Prepare the surface

Tile only lasts on a flat, solid base. We check and correct the surface, and in wet areas make sure waterproofing is in place before setting.

  3. Dry layout

We lay out the pattern from the center and plan the cuts so small slivers do not end up in the most visible spots, and so a niche or inlay lands where it should.

  4. Set the tile

Tile goes in with the right mortar for the material and size. On large-format floors we use leveling spacers to keep neighboring tiles flush.

  5. Grout, caulk and seal

After the tile has set, we grout, caulk the corners and joints that need to flex, seal where the material calls for it, and clean up.

What affects the cost of tile installation

Tile jobs are quoted by the project after we see the surface and the tile you have in mind.

Tile size and format

Large-format tile needs an especially flat surface and careful handling. Small mosaics take more time per square foot.

Pattern complexity

Straight rows are quickest. Diagonals, herringbone, borders and inlays take more layout and cutting.

Surface preparation

Uneven floors, old adhesive and damaged backer board need work before tile can go down.

Size of the area

Tall shower walls, niches, benches and curbs add detail work beyond the square footage.

Who supplies the tile

Tile you choose and bring changes the quote, as does the mortar and grout the material requires.

Why homeowners choose us for tile

Tile is where our bathroom work shows. Juan has recently set ceramic for his own community, and the showers and floors on this site are from real jobs, not stock photos.

We take time on layout. A tile floor is permanent, so we would rather spend an extra hour planning a pattern than have you live with an awkward cut every day.

Where we do this work

We set tile throughout Hendersonville, Gallatin and Nashville, and at homes in neighboring communities.

Questions about tile & ceramic installation

Should I choose ceramic or porcelain for a bathroom?

Both work in bathrooms. Porcelain is denser and absorbs less water, which helps in showers and cold climates, while ceramic is often easier to cut and more budget-friendly. We will help you match the material to the room.

Why does large-format tile need a flatter floor?

Big tiles bridge dips and humps instead of following them, so unevenness shows as lippage, where one tile edge sits higher than the next. We check and flatten the surface first.

How much extra tile should I buy?

Plan for cuts and breakage, and keep a few spares for future repairs. The right amount depends on the pattern. We will tell you after measuring.

Can you tile over my existing tile?

Sometimes, if the old tile is solid and flat, but it raises the floor height and can hide problems. In wet areas we usually recommend removing it. We will tell you what we see.

When can I use the shower after tiling?

Mortar, grout and sealer each have their own cure times, and they differ by product. We tell you exactly how long to wait before we leave.

Can you add a niche or pattern to a shower?

Yes. Niches, benches and inlays, like the diamond-pattern niche pictured above, are planned into the layout from the start so they look built-in, not added.
