Laminate Flooring Installation in Hendersonville, TN
Click-together laminate planks and glue-down vinyl tile for busy homes, installed flat and finished clean.
Two floors that look like more expensive ones
Laminate and vinyl are the practical flooring choices for homes that get real use. Laminate is a floating plank floor that clicks together, built to look like wood. Vinyl tile comes in squares like ceramic but is glued down, and Juan installs both. They share a goal, a durable floor at a reasonable price, but they install very differently.
Laminate floats over an underlayment and needs a small gap at every wall so it can expand and contract with the seasons. Glue-down vinyl tile needs a clean, flat, dry surface and has to be set in the adhesive working time and rolled to bond. Cutting corners on either leads to gaps, lifting edges or planks that separate.
If you are deciding between these and a harder surface, compare them with tile installation or see the broader flooring installation page for how we approach any floor.
Why homeowners switch to laminate or vinyl
- Old carpet that holds odors, pet hair or stains and is ready to go.
- A busy household where scratches and spills mean hardwood is not realistic.
- A tight budget that still needs a floor that looks finished and consistent.
- A basement, hallway or bedroom where a quick turnaround matters.
- A worn vinyl or linoleum floor that needs a fresh surface before you list the house.

How we install laminate and glue-down vinyl tile
- Choose the floor for the room
We talk through traffic, moisture and pets. Vinyl tile is more water-resistant, while laminate suits dry living areas and bedrooms.
- Prepare and check the surface
We clean the floor, check that it is flat and dry, and correct low spots, because both products show flaws in the subfloor.
- Underlayment or adhesive
Laminate gets an underlayment layer that cushions and blocks moisture. Vinyl tile gets spread with the adhesive the manufacturer specifies.
- Lay the planks or tile
Laminate clicks together in staggered rows with an expansion gap at each wall. Vinyl tile is set square, pressed into the adhesive and rolled for a firm bond.
- Finish edges and clean up
Baseboards, quarter round and thresholds hide the expansion gaps and cover the transitions, followed by cleanup.
What affects the cost of laminate and vinyl flooring
We quote by the room after measuring and checking the surface.
Laminate or vinyl tile
Click-together planks and glue-down tile take different amounts of time and different supplies.
Surface preparation
Leveling compound, patching and moisture treatment add time on rough or uneven floors.
Underlayment and adhesive
Underlayment type and adhesive coverage depend on the product and the room.
Room shape
Closets, angles, stairs and many doorways mean more cuts.
Old floor removal
Pulling up carpet is quick. Removing glued vinyl or tile takes longer.
Trim and baseboards
Taking baseboards off and putting them back, or replacing them, is priced with the job.
Why homeowners choose us for laminate and vinyl floors
Juan installs both click-together laminate and glue-down vinyl tile, and he is straightforward about which suits which room. A kitchen does not need the same floor as a spare bedroom.
We finish what the floor touches. New baseboards, quarter round and thresholds are handled by the same crew, so the room looks complete, not like a flooring job with loose ends.
Where we do this work

Questions about laminate & vinyl flooring
What is the difference between laminate and vinyl flooring?
Laminate is a wood-look plank with a fiberboard core that floats over an underlayment. Vinyl is a plastic-based material, and vinyl tile is glued down. Vinyl handles water far better than laminate.
Can laminate go in a bathroom?
We generally steer people away from it in bathrooms because standing water can swell the edges. Vinyl tile or ceramic tile is a safer choice for wet rooms.
Why does laminate need a gap around the walls?
Floating floors expand and contract with temperature and humidity. The gap gives them room to move, and the baseboard or quarter round covers it.
Do I need to remove my existing floor first?
Often yes, especially with carpet or glued flooring. Some floating floors can go over a flat, solid existing floor. We check before deciding.
How long before I can put furniture back?
Laminate can be used right away. Glue-down vinyl needs the adhesive time recommended for the product, and we tell you before we leave.
Does humid weather affect these floors?
It can, particularly laminate. Tennessee summers are humid, which is why we check the subfloor and moisture before installing and leave the expansion gaps.
