Painters in Hendersonville, TN
Walls, trim and doors prepped properly and painted clean, with the patching and drywall work handled by the same crew.
Paint is mostly preparation
A good paint job is decided before the first coat goes on. Holes get filled, cracks get repaired, glossy surfaces get sanded, stains get sealed, and edges get taped and cut in by hand. Rushed prep is why paint peels, shows roller marks or lets old stains bleed back through.
Because we also do drywall and remodeling, painting often finishes a job we started. A new shower niche, a patched wall after a door was moved, trim around a replaced window: all of it needs paint to look done, and one crew keeping the schedule keeps those rooms from sitting half-finished.
Bathrooms deserve extra attention. Steam and humidity break down ordinary paint and invite mildew, so we choose products made for moisture and make sure the room is ventilated while it cures. This page covers interior walls, trim and doors.
Signs a room needs painting
- Peeling, bubbling or chipped paint, especially on trim, doors and bathroom ceilings.
- Visible patches where holes or repairs were filled but never repainted.
- Stains from old leaks, smoke or marker that will not wash off.
- Colors that look dated, or walls that never matched after a remodel.
- Dark mildew spots in a bathroom that keep returning after cleaning.
- A home you want to refresh before listing or moving in.

How we paint a room
- Walkthrough and color plan
We look at each surface, talk about colors and finish levels and note repairs that need to happen first.
- Protect the space
Floors, furniture and fixtures get covered, outlet plates come off and edges are taped where it helps.
- Patch, sand, caulk and prime
Holes and cracks are filled, rough spots are sanded smooth, gaps in trim are caulked, and stains or bare patches get primer.
- Cut in and roll
We brush the edges by hand and roll the walls and ceilings in even coats, with drying time in between.
- Touch up and clean up
We check the finished room in daylight, touch up anything missed, remove the tape and protection and clean up.
What affects the cost of a painting project
Painting is quoted by the room or the house after we see the surfaces.
Wall and ceiling area
Tall ceilings, stairwells and large rooms take more time and equipment.
Condition of the surfaces
Heavy patching, peeling paint or stained areas need more prep than clean walls.
Number of colors and coats
Moving from dark to light, or changing several colors, often needs primer and extra coats.
Trim, doors and detail work
Baseboards, casing and doors take careful hand work and add up quickly.
Paint quality and who supplies it
Premium and moisture-resistant paints cost more per gallon, and customer-supplied paint changes the quote.
Occupied or empty rooms
Furnished rooms need more moving and covering than empty ones.
Why homeowners call us for painting
We repair as we go. Instead of painting over a bad patch, we fix it, which is the difference between paint that looks fresh for years and paint that shows every flaw by next winter.
We know the rooms we paint. When we have just remodeled a bathroom or replaced a window, we know exactly what needs touching up, and you are not coordinating between a remodeler and a separate painter.
Where we do this work
We paint homes in Hendersonville, Gallatin, Nashville and nearby neighborhoods.
Questions about house painting
Do I need primer before painting?
Not always. Primer matters over bare drywall, patched areas, stains and big color changes. If the existing paint is sound and the color change is small, one coat of primer-and-paint may be enough.
How many coats of paint will my walls need?
Two coats is the norm for a clean, even color. A dramatic color change or a poor existing surface can call for primer plus two coats.
What paint should I use in a bathroom?
Choose a paint made for moisture, usually satin or semi-gloss, and run the fan during and after painting. Standard flat paint tends to mildew in shower-adjacent rooms.
Can you match a color I already have?
Yes. Bring a paint chip or a leftover can, or we can match from a small sample of the wall. Lighting can make colors look different, so we check in daylight.
How long before I can put furniture back?
Paint is usually dry to the touch within hours but takes days to fully cure. We tell you when it is safe to hang pictures and move furniture against the walls.
Do you fix the walls before painting?
Yes. Patching holes and cracks and finishing drywall is part of how we prepare, and we handle larger repairs through our drywall service.
